Money & Finances

Stewarding what God blesses us with.

Whether you’ve got a solid financial plan or are digging yourself out of debt, you are so welcome here.

We believe that God blesses us with the resources we need, and gives us the job of stewarding those blessings.

Getting a hold of your budget is a process God can use to teach you gratitude, refine your mind, and pay attention to what you sow.

Stewarding our finances requires intention, grace, and a daily decision to use what we are blessed with for God's purposes.

Here, you'll find the encouragement, tools, and honest conversations you need to get aware, reflect, and make better choices with your finances.

Evaluate Your Finances

I'm not going to sit here and pretend I have all the answers. Especially because I'm still learning and on the journey with you as I work through understanding financial literacy and how to better steward our finances.

Evaluating your finances is a key step to stewarding your budget and how your resources are used.

I do believe everything we have is God's, not ours. So "our" money, home, job, vehicles, and things are really His. And we are to steward them. There is grace for the journey, and continual learning and growing in our relationship with Him will reveal our path.

Okay, let's get to evaluating.

Re-evaluating your budget isn't about deprivation. It's about awareness and reclaiming peace and freedom around finances.

I'm leaving you with just 3 steps to start with and there are great resources below.

Step 1: Audit

Take time to audit your finances. Look at your bank/credit card statements and see what you are spending money on.

Is each item needed or necessary? Does it serve a purpose? Do you NEED 3 different TV/movie streaming services or could you condense to one or zero? Are there subscriptions you don't use?

Step 2: Name Your Goal

The goal could be paying off debt, building savings for a specific reason (car, home, vacation, etc), investing.

Compare it against your audit and decide what needs to happen to shift this goal into a main priority.

Do you need to bring in more income? Spend less? Get creative?

Step 3: Work the Plan

Now that you have a goal, take the steps to drop subscriptions and pay attention to your budget at LEAST weekly.

Here is how I work on our budget every week.
